Last Friday night, the fashion community of Byron braved the torrential weather and came together to support an amazing local in her time of need
Underneath the brand new barn space and The Farm, (opened especially for the event,) we enjoyed fashion, cocktails and meeting with friends, all in the name of collaborating for a cause.
Ashlea Penfold is a well-known local makeup artist who has worked with some of Australia’s most exciting labels and brands. Recently, Ashlea’s husband Matt Penfold was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease and is undergoing chemotherapy. Alongside this, their 5-year-old son has ongoing medical costs for treatment for Autism. By fundraising through fashion, local labels, stylists, photographers and designers banded together to raise money for the family with 5% of all proceeds going to and Autism Charity. A fashion show featuring exclusive first look into new collections and new season pieces was an absolute treat, and we were so lucky to be a part of it all.
Eye of Horus Cosmetics is never one to shy away from people in need. We were happily involved as the major makeup sponsor for the night providing many makeup-filled packs for each model as well as donating Mystery Boxes of our entire range for purchase on the night. Amid a torrent of water, a black out and blustery winds, the champagne flowed and the event was an enormous success!
Other Byron Bay brands and people that organised and participated in the even included:
Spell and the Gypsy Collective, Goddess of Babylon, Amilita, Rowie, Thrills, Isla Collective, Fallen Broken Street, Marho, Rhythm Girls, Afends, Stitch & Hide, SJ Lingerie, The Farm at Byron Bay, Three Blue Ducks Byron Bay, Temple of the Sun Jewellery, Meeshka, St Agni Studio, Marisa Sidoti, Sybil Steele, Magdalena Roze.
The models each received a Goddess Mascara,
